From John 17:6-19 we learn that in his last hours Jesus prayed that God would keep his disciples faithful, grant them joy, make them holy, and send them on mission.

Preaching from John 17, Pastor Pete calls the church to cultivate unity in the gospel; a unity that is fueled by the abiding love of God, and practiced by those who have been changed by the gospel of Jesus Christ. 

In John 17 we learn that, even knowing what he knew about his disciples, Jesus prayed for perfect unity among his disciples and all who would believe the gospel because of their teaching.

Although sorrow and suffering are unavoidable on this side of Eden, Jesus tells his disciples that these will not compare with the joy and peace that are still to come on the other side of the cross.  

In John 15:26-16:11, Jesus promises that the Spirit of God will abide with the disciples, bringing hope in the face of persecution.  The Holy Spirit enables us to love the world and oppose the world at the same time.

Preaching from John 15, Pastor Michael reminds us that persecution will come to those who follow Christ. The world hated Jesus for no good reason, and if the world hated the Master, they will hate those who follow him.

From John 15 we find that to abide in Christ is to discover promised love—in the most life-giving of all relationships.

From John 14:15-31 we see four ways that the Spirit of God makes good on Jesus' promise. He enables love of Jesus, sustains the teaching of Jesus, brings the conviction of Jesus and grants the peace of Jesus.    

From John 14 we learn the essential message of Christianity; that through Jesus Christ we can personally know and trust in God the father.

Returning to John 10, we're reminded that although most people love the idea of a good and gentle shepherd who cares for and protects us, we are not as comfortable with the reality that like helpless sheep, we are desperately in need of a shepherd.

From John 8 we learn that we're not to seek our own glory, or to live for the approval of men, but instead to stake our lives on knowing God and walking in delightful obedience  to him.

From John 9 we learn that seeing Jesus and believing in him is the means by which we can truly see everything else.

Preaching from John 10, Pastor Chip reminds us that the heart of the gospel is that the most valuable One, Jesus Christ, the Shepherd of infinite worth, lays down his life for us.

From John's gospel we learn that Jesus Christ frees us from the bondage of self, sin and Satan.
