From Psalm 70 we learn about one of the fundamentals of the Christian Faith; prayer. David models the urgency of bringing our concerns to God, praying for justice, as well as for God's greatness while demonstrating his own submission and humility before God.

At the end of Isaiah we are given one last glimpse into Zion, the new heavens and the new earth.

In Isaiah 56 we're reminded that God's redemptive plan extends to all peoples.

Sharing from his own testimony in chapter 12, Isaiah joyfully proclaims that God is the beautiful music of salvation that has come alive in us.

The unbelief of King Ahaz in Isaiah 7 is a window into our own hearts. Like Ahaz, in the most difficult, threatening seasons of life we are more likely to trust in our schemes and plans rather than to trust in the heart of a faithful God.

Nothing will be more practical or relevant for the coming year than a transformed, life-altering vision of God.

In Psalm 69 we see that those that God loves still face suffering, and that suffering may come because of our faith in God. But because Jesus entered into our suffering and ultimately gave his life on a cross for our sins, our suffering is not eternal, but through him brings us redemption and reconciliation to God.

In Psalm 63 we read of David's praise lifted to God in spite of dire circumstances, and we discover that the deep well of God's lovingkindness will satisfy us more than any other source.

How do we overcome suffering? The Psalmist calls us to sing through our feelings of abandonment and rejection. In Psalm 60 we see David cry out to God, find hope in the promise of God and a renewed dependance on the Lord for the battle before him.

The Gospel calls us towards unity. Following the example of Christ, who did not strive to please himself, we seek to live for others and the glory of God. From Romans 15:1-7, we're reminded of the beauty that arises from a church that seeks to live in harmony with one another.

Preaching from Hebrews 10:19-25, we learn that because God has drawn near to us in Christ, we are now called draw near to one another.

Death is forever defeated thru the victorious resurrection of Jesus Christ. His victory brings salvation to all who believe. We believe this with our hearts, and confess it by sharing God's saving grace with others.

Preaching from Acts 2, Vince Oliveri reminds us of the shared life we experience because of the gospel. As a community of people changed by the gospel we express our awe of God through worship, we practice love for one another through fellowship, and we demonstrate the life-changing power of the gospel by stepping towards neighbors and others in need.

One of the more underrated stories from the Gospels, the ascension of Jesus is the sign of God's glory, and stands as a confirmation of all that the Savior said, and did.
